Why BotList became a paid membership to submit bots.

Starting January 2019 will mark 3 years that I've been working on BotList.

From hitting 8.1M bot views, to VentureBeat partnerships, to Amazon advertising with us, we've accomplished so much in such a short period of time. 🔥

Some of you may or may not know, but other than my awesome contractor @thomas, I'm the only one working on BotList.

This means that in order to be successful and keep pushing the bot industry forward, we needed to come up with a proper revenue stream. 😅 😅

In the great words of Pieter Levels from Nomad List, "Remember all those cool startups you used that were free but then they were acquired, shut down and now don't exist anymore? It's because free apps don't make money, and therefore can't survive."

BotList hasn't raised any type of funding and solely relies on memberships to keep the lights on. In order to push the future of bots, we need the help of the community.

Plain and simple, a cup of coffee a month is what I need from all of our registered users in order to keep bringing new features that will help push bots to new levels. 🙏 🙏 🙏

Thank you to those who have supported us and thank you to those who helped in any way.

I will always be grateful to those who have helped in this journey.

BTW, Paying for a Pro plan gives you the ability to list your bots without hitting a submission queue like before.

@cama thanks for your support. Is there anything that you would like to see updated next? Or maybe new features?

@sethlouey For me, the value is being listed as a maker. I can send the profile to prospects asking about my bots. I get an occasional lead and the quality of the lead are very good. (i.e. have a company making money). Compared to my Fiverr Pro account which rarely provides ideal prospects. I would like to see the make page easier to access via home or surface in another complimentary way. Feature wise, I would appreciate being notified when I am sent a private message.

@cama RE: "I would appreciate being notified when I am sent a private message" go to: https://botlist.co/users/settings/notifications and update your notifications to get notified when someone sends you a PM. :)

As for the Makers on the homepage, I'm redesigning the homepage now.
